GeoCF - Smart Maps
Motto and Goal
Based in Austin, TX, GeoCF is a company developing Smart Power Maps. Smart Power Maps is a software tool/platform for the evaluation and development of solar projects. The initiative is funded by the Solar Energy Technologies Office of the Department of Energy.
“The need to move quickly in today’s highly competitive solar power development market means companies and developers must find new ways that give them a competitive edge. Enter Solar Power Maps – the most advanced software toolset dedicated to quickly and easily siting and accessing solar power projects for maximum revenue and profit.”
How They Do It
The Smart Power Maps platform aims to assist in lowering the cost of capital and reducing the time needed to bring solar projects to market. In order to achieve that, the platform provides accurate geolocation and mapping data on the availability and intensity of solar energy at specific locations throughout the year and in various locations. Leveraging this service, customers can avoid wasting money and time deploying solar implementations at locations with inadequate light exposure.
