Motto and Goal
Delta Airlines has used multiple mottos throughout their 85 years of existence, with their current one appropriately being, "Keep Climbing."
Delta Aims to minimize their environmental impact beyond just cutting down on engine emission from burning jet fuel.
How They Do It
Air travel only accounts for about 2% of carbon emissions, but every bit counts, and Delta Airlines recognizes this.
They are actively trying to reduce their carbon emissions by investing in more fuel efficient planes, perfecting take off and landing procedures, making flights lighter, and making sure they keep up with global climate change initiatives. The exact goal is to improve their fuel efficiency by 1.5% per year.
Aside from Aerospace specific improvements to sustainability, Delta also gives back to the community to offset their impact both environmentally and socially. One such example is a biomass project in Alagoas, Brazil. Delta is supporting two factories there that produces tiles and other ceramic products so that they can move toward more eco-friendly practices. This not only contributes to the environment, but also bolsters the community by providing a better working environment.
